Email “engineering” pays off
This week, I had the pleasure of training a team of sellers in the food/beverage industry. Their primary frustration was the time it would take them to get people to respond to emails. Since their business requires testing of additives and R&D efforts, delays in email responses always means an extended selling cycle. We spent the day looking at emails and using the NLP techniques of VAK Mixing and embedded commands to make emails more powerful. As the group was breaking up to go home, one seller spoke up: “I sent the email we have been working on to a customer who usually requires me to send emails for a week-and-a-half before I get an answer. I sent it about ten minutes ago. I JUST GOT A RESPONSE! Ten minutes!” How fun is that?
